Emilie Gallerani Tassinari

Emilie Gallerani Tassinari, Soloist of the Ballet Ensemble at the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana, is a French-Italian dancer who graduated from the Teatro alla Scala Ballet School in Milan.
Since an early age, she trained in her hometown both in competitive sports – within the Italian Swimming Federation – as well as in classical ballet.
In 2009, she won the Ballet Competition Bolzano Danza, where she was noticed by the Director of the La Scala Ballet School, Frédéric Olivieri, who invited her to audition for the internationally renowned school. After the National Championship in Rome, she decided to abandon swimming, rather opting for a professional dance education with the La Scala Ballet School in the class of Bella Ratchinskaia. She also studied with other dance pedagogues, such as Leonid Nikonov, Tatiana Nikonova, Loretta Alexandrescu and Paola Vismara.
During the last two years in ballet school, she had a contract as a member of the corps de ballet at the Teatro alla Scala Ballet Company, under the direction of Makhar Vaziev, performing in different theatre productions (Swan Lake, Giselle, Aida …) and touring in Hong Kong.
She successfully graduated in June 2014 and joined the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam, first as a member of the Junior Company and then the main company as well. She performed in the company's repertoire productions (Swan Lake – Four Little Swans, Bayadere - Pas d'action, Cinderella - Spring Spirits, by Christopher Wheeldon and also took part in the theatre tours in Mexico, London, Spain and Hong Kong.
She decided to expand her repertoire by accepting to join the Houston Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet in 2017. There, she had an opportunity to dance in the choreographies by Balanchine, Ben Stevenson, Stanton Welch and also tour in Dubai and Minnesota.
In April 2019, she accepted a contract offer by the then Artistic Director of the Ballet Ensemble at the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana, Sanja Nešković Peršin, thus joining the company as Demi Soloist.
Since then, she danced multiple soloist and leading roles, which led her to her promotion to Soloist. Worth mentioning among them are: Magnificent Pas de Deux (M. Šparemblek) for the gala evening dedicated to the Centenary of the Slovenian Ballet, Lonely Poet (L. Mujić), Red Pas de Deux in the Land of Smiles (L. Zuschlag), Kitri and the Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote (D. Matvienko), Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty (I. During her professional journey, she has been personally supervised by Gabriella Cohen (former Principal Dancer at the Teatro alla Scala) and Giuseppe Carbone (former Director at the Teatro alla Scala).
