Filip Jurič
Filip Jurič (Maribor, 1995) completed his education at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Maribor, in 2014 and received the Dr Roma Klasinc Diploma for outstanding achievements during his schooling. During that time, he also perfected his skills at various seminars abroad, including Stage Internazionale DANZA, La Scala Theatre in Milan (IT), Bartholin Seminar at the Royal Danish Ballet School in Copenhagen, as well as the 25th and 26th International Summer Dance Seminar of the Hungarian Dance Academy in Budapest. He also took part in various competitions. At the 11th and 13th Competition of Young Ballet Dancers of Slovenia he won the First Prize twice and also received a Gold Plaque. He gained valuable stage practice in the performances of the Ballet SNG Maribor (Giselle, Don Quixote, La fille mal gardée, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker). Among his most prominent roles was the leading role in a co-production staging of the ballet Cippolino (A. Lukyanov, after H. Mayorov; Maribor Conservatory and SNG Maribor).
After finishing school, he became a member of the Young Slovenian Ballet at DBUS (Association of Ballet Artists of Slovenia); in the fall of 2014, he joined the Ballet Ensemble of the SNG Maribor, where he danced soloist roles in the classical ballet performances, Swan Lake (Pas de trois), Le Corsaire (Lankendem, Slave), Giselle (Peasant pas de deux), La Sylphide (Gurn), Zorba the Greek (Yorgos), Cinderella (Guardian of Pleasure) and the contemporary ballet repertoire Tango, Stabat mater, Rite of Spring, Peer Gynt, Hora, Handman, Radio & Juliet and Kekec (leading role) by E. Clug, Dangerous Liaisons, Romeo and Juliet, Carmen, Eugene Onegin, Death in Venice by V. Turcu, Left Right Left Right (A. Ekman), Walking Mad (J. Inger), Cantata (Bigonzetti). He has also performed with the Ballet SNG Maribor at major world festivals, including Ibero-American Theatre Festival in Bogota (CO), Cervantino International Festival in Guanajuato (ME), Dance Open Festival in St. Petersburg (RU), Dance Brno (CZ), European Music in Oradea (RO) and State Academic Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (RU).
He danced in the productions of DBUS (Association of Ballet Artists of Slovenia), Carmen (Don José), The Lady with the Camellias (Plesis), Romeo and Juliet (Romeo, Tybalt) and Giselle (Peasant pas de deux). He also participated in classical and contemporary performances, presented on numerous ballet concerts around Slovenia, most notably at the Gala 100 Years of Slovenian Ballet, where he appeared in a fragment from the first Slovenian ballet Možiček (Mere Wisp of a Man) (Ipavec, Otrin), a duet from Hora (Balanescu, Clug) and a Miniature for Two Kane and Abel (Polenc, Mokranjac, Dedović). With the latter, he also performed as a guest at the International Ballet Festival IFBM in Miami (US).
From the fall of 2020, he has been engaged as Ballet Soloist at the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana where he danced Lankendem in Le Corsaire, appeared in choreography by L. Zuschlag Intermezzo in C. Mascagni's opera Cavalleria rusticana and took part in a virtual concert (P)osebno 2 (Zuschlag, Saint-Saëns: Carnival of the Animals – The Swan).
