Jura Kušar
Tenor Jure Kušar - a principal of the SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana (Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana) -, has been this theatre’s soloist since 1989. He studied solo singing under Professor Ksenija Vidali Žebre. He made his debut on our stage in 1986 with the role of Abdallo in Verdi's Nabucco.
In 1991 he appeared in his first soloist role – as Alfredo in Verdi's La traviata. His following roles were: Ismaele (Nabucco), Franjo (The Nightingale of Gorenjska), Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann), Radames (Aida), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Rodolfo (La bohème), Luigi (The Overcoat), Calaf (Turandot), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Don José (Carmen), Jenik (The Bartered Bride), Bakhus (Ariadne auf Naxos), Barinkay (The Gipsy Baron), Chevalier Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Florestan (Fidelio), André Chénier (André Chénier), Riccardo (A Masked Ball) and Eisenstein (The Bat).
